This weekend I had the pleasure of visiting the Lindfield Victorian House Museum in Aukland Park, Johannesburg.
This gem was built in the early 1900’s and is a Provincial Monument near the University of Johannesburg.
The current owner, Katherine Love, lead us on an hour long tour of the 22 room house which is decorated with her personal collections of Victorian and Edwardian furniture and antiques.
I cannot recommend this museum highly enough because, not only was the house and it’s collection incredible, but  Katherine’s knowledge and passion for this home, it’s contents and the Era of history which it represents was immense, fascinating and infectious.
She has also opened a Victorian shop on the premises and holds a monthly fair on the second Sunday with traders selling all manner of interesting items.
The few pictures I enclose do not do this museum justice and I encourage all who find themselves this side of the world to contact Katherine for a truly outstanding and memorable visit.
