The ornate Somtseu Road Hindu Temple.

This Temple in 24 Somtseu Road, also known as  Shree Thakundwara & Dharmashala, was designed by JP Mumford and built in 1901.

It is well worth a visit in order to see the ornate shrines that form part of the greater temple area.

There were at least three other Temples in this area serving a large Indian community, many of whom were moved under the Group Areas Act. These Temples have however disappeared. It is one of the oldest temples in Durban.
