Durban – Britannia Hotel 1879

Durban’s Britannia Hotel in Umgeni Road, is an institution. Aside from the well renowned standard of its food, especially curry, the hotel  is in a time warp going back to the date of its establishment in 1879, by Castle Wine & EK Green, a liquor distributor. The hotel has rooms , a restaurant, cafe, sports bar and gaming facilities.

 The interior of the hotel is paneled and furnished in dark and yet luxurious wood, giving the facilities a warm ambiance. A lunch time meal here is well worth a try.
