Each year the South African National Society honours its former member, Daphne Strutt by awarding a prize to the best second year student
at the Durban University of Technology, Department of Fashion and Textiles.
This year the deserving winner is
Angel Dlamini.
This year’s winner is Sandile Ngidi, who is studying at UCT. His winning dissertation title is as follows: “In Praise of the Ancestors: Mazisi Kunene and the Poetry of Heroic Memory”.
